“Legend of the Blue Sea” is a well received South Korean drama which got aired in 16 November 2016 and the final episode released in 25 January 2017. This series has gained popularities in Korea as well as in internationally. This is a romantic fantasy drama in which the lead roles were portrayed by Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun. The series is all about a mermaid that falls in love with a nobelmen in two different time period.

The story begins with a mermaid named Se-hwa that got captured by some villagers in Joseon era where she encountered with a noble son named Kim Dam-ryung who shield and released her back into the ocean. After seeing his kindness the mermaid falls deeply in love with the noble son Kim Da-ryung.

In present era they both got reincarnated. That nobleman reincarnated as Heo Joon-jae a con artist who scams people for money and the mermaid once again reincarnated as a mermaid named Shim Cheong who falls in love with that con artist and follows him all the way to soul.

About:

Compelling Characters: The show boasts captivating leads. Lee Min-ho plays a charming con artist who gets tangled up with a mermaid, played by the quirky and endearing Jun Ji-hyun. Their chemistry is a highlight, with their initial culture clashes giving way to sweet romance.

Genre Mashup: The show seamlessly blends humor, heart-fluttering moments, and even some suspenseful elements. The fantasy aspect with the mermaid adds a unique twist.

Beautiful Production: The cinematography is lovely, especially the scenes filmed in Spain. The special effects for the mermaid scenes are impressive as well.

Overall:

The Legend of the Blue Sea is a crowd-pleaser for many K-drama fans. It’s a lighthearted and entertaining watch, especially if you enjoy fantasy romance with a good dose of humor. However, if you crave fast-paced plots with unpredictable twists, this might not be the top choice.
